Step by step instructions on creating new shortcuts in windows .
Instructions
1. Confirm you have the full path info needed for making a shortcut (full website address, full path name to a file or program, full path name to a local server, etc)
2. Right-Click on a blank space on your Windows "Desktop"
2a. Select NEW, Click on Shortcut
3. Type or copy your desired path example: ( \\server5\XXXX\XXXX, www.website.com)
5. Click on Next button
6. Type a new name for this shortcut if you’d like, otherwise click Finish button
7. The new shortcut should now appear on your windows desktop.
